Little Hands Churchfield Afterschool Service is currently seeking a caring and enthusiastic School Aged Care Practitioner to join our team. This part-time opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children and is passionate about creating a positive and engaging afterschool experience.
As a School Aged Care Practitioner, you will support the day-to-day running of our Afterschool Care Programme, providing a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for children aged 4–12 years. Working alongside an experienced team, you will help plan and deliver creative activities while supporting children's social, emotional and physical development. The role also involves promoting positive behaviour and ensuring all activities are delivered in line with the Centre's policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day operation of the Afterschool Care Programme.
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities.
- Foster a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment.
- Encourage children's social, emotional and physical development.
- Promote positive behaviour and conflict resolution.
- Work in accordance with the Centre's and school's policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year's experience working with children.
- QQI Level 5 in Early Childhood Care & Education is desirable but not essential.
- First Aid Certificate is an advantage.
- Child Protection training is an advantage.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A genuine passion for supporting children's development.
