Support Local, Change Lives.
Every time you use our Crèche, Café, Gym, Bakery or Laundry Service, you are directly funding our life-changing Community Employment (CE) Schemes.
We provide real-world work placements and certified training for people who are long-term unemployed, giving them the skills and confidence they need to secure full-time careers. Your support fuels real change in Cork.
How It Works:
The NCE Pathway
Our unique model connects community support directly to career opportunity. By using our campus enterprises, the public helps fund the infrastructure for this three-step journey back to employment for the long term unemployed.
Our pathway provides meaningful experience, certified skills and gives our CE participants the confidence to move forward into full-time employment.
Find a Community Employment (CE) position within NCE that interests you. Apply with Our Support. We help you check your eligibility for the CE scheme and guide you through the process of applying for a specific placement with NCE.
Work in a Social Enterprise. You will work 19.5 hours per week in a structured, professional role within one of our public-facing enterprises (Café, Bakery, Laundry, etc.) or support services.
Achieve Certified Training. While you work, you may gain access to funding for accredited training in your chosen field, ensuring you leave the scheme with both a current CV and an in-demand qualification.

Community Employment (CE) Placements
NCE Community Employment placements make it possible to gain valuable workplace experience and training. If you are eligible for a Community Employment Scheme (CE Scheme) and are looking for a position, then you are in the right place.
NCE have been running CE Schemes for over 30 years having been established in 1993.
When on a CE Scheme, we can help you with further training.
Our Enterprises
Enterprise with a Social Purpose
Our Enterprises are open to the public. They operate on a not for profit basis, so all profits go directly back into funding work placements and training schemes in our community.
