About this Job:
Little Hands Churchfield Afterschool Service is currently seeking an experienced and motivated School Aged Care Leader to lead our Afterschool Care Programme. This is an exciting opportunity for a childcare professional with leadership experience who is passionate about delivering high-quality care and creating positive experiences for children aged 4–12 years.
As the School Aged Care Leader, you will oversee the day-to-day management of the service, leading and supporting the team while planning engaging educational and recreational activities. You will play a key role in ensuring a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment, maintaining high standards of care and supporting the continuous development of the programme in line with relevant legislation, policies and best practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operation of the Afterschool Care Programme.
- Plan and oversee engaging educational and recreational activities.
- Supervise, support and motivate the School Aged Care team.
- Build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
- Support children's social, emotional, physical and cognitive development.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with policies and legislation.
- Promote health and safety and contribute to the ongoing development of the service.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working with school-aged children.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience is desirable.
- QQI Level 6 (or higher) in Early Childhood Care & Education, Childcare, Social Care or a related qualification.
- First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Child Protection training (or willingness to complete).
- Excellent leadership, organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while leading and supporting a team.
