Vacancy: Community Employment Supervisor (DIY Skills & Training)
About the Role
Are you a skilled DIY enthusiast who enjoys teaching and empowering others?
NCE Outreach is seeking a Community Employment Supervisor with strong practical skills and a passion for guiding CE participants toward personal and professional growth through hands-on learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver practical training and supervision to Community Employment participants in various DIY disciplines (e.g. woodwork, painting, basic repairs).
- Design and implement structured training programmes to help participants build valuable, transferable skills.
- Monitor participant progress, providing feedback and support to ensure positive learning outcomes.
- Maintain a safe and productive workshop environment, ensuring proper use of tools and materials.
- Foster teamwork, motivation, and confidence among participants preparing for further education or employment.
- Oversee administration, compliance and participant learning plans
- Maintain compliance with all Department of Social Protection and operational standards.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience Required
- A recognised qualification in a relevant field such as carpentry, construction, maintenance or building services (NFQ Level 6 or higher) and/or a Train the Trainer qualification are highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in construction, DIY, home improvement, or related practical trades.
- Previous supervisory or training experience is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Solid understanding of tools, materials, and safety procedures.
- A genuine passion for teaching, mentoring, and helping others reach their potential.
Salary: Point 1 of the CE Supervisor Salary Scale
