Vacancy: Community Employment Supervisor (DIY Skills & Training)

About the Role

Are you a skilled DIY enthusiast who enjoys teaching and empowering others?
NCE Outreach is seeking a Community Employment Supervisor with strong practical skills and a passion for guiding CE participants toward personal and professional growth through hands-on learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver practical training and supervision to Community Employment participants in various DIY disciplines (e.g. woodwork, painting, basic repairs).
  • Design and implement structured training programmes to help participants build valuable, transferable skills.
  • Monitor participant progress, providing feedback and support to ensure positive learning outcomes.
  • Maintain a safe and productive workshop environment, ensuring proper use of tools and materials.
  • Foster teamwork, motivation, and confidence among participants preparing for further education or employment.
  • Oversee administration, compliance and participant learning plans
  • Maintain compliance with all Department of Social Protection and operational standards.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience Required

  • A recognised qualification in a relevant field such as carpentry, construction, maintenance or building services (NFQ Level 6 or higher) and/or a Train the Trainer qualification are highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in construction, DIY, home improvement, or related practical trades.
  • Previous supervisory or training experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of tools, materials, and safety procedures.
  • A genuine passion for teaching, mentoring, and helping others reach their potential.

 

Salary: Point 1 of the CE Supervisor Salary Scale
