Childcare

Our purpose built childcare facility, Littlehands, offers comprehensive and hands on education and training opportunities to anyone wishing to pursue a career in Early Childhood Care and Education.

This course is entirely FREE as it is funded by the Community Employment Scheme Program! It is designed for Community Employment Scheme learners who are interested in pursuing a career in childcare or learners who wish to pursue further studies. Through hands on experience learners explore all aspects of a child’s development, from safety and well-being, to regulation and legislation. On completion learners can obtain QQI Level 5 & 6 qualifications.

• Early Care and Education Practice
• Early Childhood Education and Play
• Child Health and Well Being
• Work Experience
• Communications
• Infant and Toddler Years
• Children with Additional Needs

Early Childhood Care and Education Modules QQI Level 6

Modules include:

• Child Development
• Early Childhood Curriculum
• Childhood Social Legal and Health Studies
• Work Experience
• Communications
• Supervision in Early Childhood care
• Early Learning Environment

We can offer Community Employment Scheme positions in any one of the following 6 locations around Cork City:

• Stepping Stones Farranree
• Knocknaheeny Family Centre

Who can apply?

If you are over 21 and passionate about a career in childcare and would like to gain a worldwide recognised qualification in this area then this course is for you!
